Fine Art Paintings reproduction, copying of teachers to learn to paint, is that how it does, is that right? Sure, many people do, but there are some things to think about.
Landscape painting still life portrait commissions through the work of another, to sell, are you OK?
Nope.
I think it'sa personal choice in many ways. I tried to copy verbatim, and I really learned many things in this way. It is surprising that the colors begin to see, that he had noticed before, while studying something strong enough to copy it, at any level.
I knew a woman once just did, only copied every stroke of any teacher who was in love. Never painted landscapes, still life and portrait commissions, just paint for their own pleasure. I never have however, never showed his work, and only decorated his own house as well as friends and family, confessed. I guess she took it as what she wanted. I always thought that actually had a real talent, though it was a shame he never had the confidence to get out of it.
I think one thing is out of somebody, and another out and out copy, not keep doing nothing, they never learn from it, ever to create your own expression out of another style.
Who are you?
It seems valid to find the dimensions of the search for other artists, simply make sure that on the way, who you are and who you hope that as an artist, not compromised.
Another very obvious consideration is the copyright laws! If you are copying someone like Lucian Freud, hey, no way! Freud is still alive, so that there are major problems eh? You still can, of course, but they do not sell, not shown, and perhaps keep it under a rug. LOL.
Whatever you do, know who you are as an artist, or at least push that effort. Take its time to play with his art. Read everything you can about other artists who were and are. It is in their words and thoughts that are great gifts. Matisse said to feel colors .. ahh that's a gift.
Feel the colors and that is within your creative journey.
Keep a journal, document their own efforts and what motivates you as an artist and person. You are as important as main artist. By keeping a journal you will notice their own growth.
If you choose to make reproductions of works art paintings, fine, but go too far. Embrace your next creation, whether landscape, still life or portrait. Realize that it is possible that, beyond than copy, and display his talents hidden.
