Art Information For Kids
Anyone in here working in the field of cryptography? I would like them to give me some information.?
There are 2 things I love on this world very much:
1-Applied C cryptography
2-Network Programming in C
I’ve been studying C for almost a year now and I can say I know the basics(BASICS) of most C’s aspects and features! But since I was a kid I was passionated by cryptography! I looked up on some tutorials and learned some basic ciphers(Caesar, Playfair, RailFence, etc)
Now…at your job…what do you exactly do as a cryptanalyst or whatever you do in the field of this art!
How hard is it to get that job?
and what branches of math do you need to be good at?
I’m not a cryptographer, but I have done work on cryptography. Hopefully my answers will help.
The most important aspects of math that you need to know are discrete math and number theory. The encryption schemes used in software and networking today are completely based on ideas from these two fields. Of those fields, the concepts of “mod” and prime numbers are probably the most important.
There are many jobs related to cryptography. You can work for:
- a software vendor that makes encryption and protection software. You will need good programming skills, and you’ll spend your day making and testing algorithms for the software.
- a research group or university as a purely theoretical cryptographer. In this case you really need to know your math and you’ll be trying to prove whether a coding scheme is truly secure, and possibly make up your own schemes.
- an government intelligence agency like CIA, deciphering intercepted messages
