How much money do art teachers make a year?

I plan on going to college for art education, but I know teachers don’t make very much…

It depends on where you teach and your experience in the field. A large school district will pay more than a small one, simply because they have more funding. More experience (in the professional field, not as a student teacher) and a higher degree (IE master’s) will give you a higher salary as well.

You also have the options of extra-duty pay (that means you can choose to be a coach, class sponsor, etc. if you need to make more cash).

You have to start low before you can work your way up the salary ladder. Teaching is a worthwhile experience, but just be ready for the low income – it’s inevitable.
