What is the art style called where the artwork has no borders?

This kind of style is frequently seen on places like threadless and is notable for the lack of black outlines in the drawing. Does anyone know what the style is called, and perhaps (even better) where a tutorial to it’s making can be found.

In print, it would be called a full bleed, where the image goes all the way to the edge of the page, like a borderless photographic print.
