Paper Art Research Help!?

I need to know what are some good topics about art that I can do a research about. I was thinking of making Native American art, but I think I'll get enough information to write my article. I really need help on this. Really I know nothing about art and would be grateful if anyone with knowledge can provide some ideas to help me get started. Its hard to point in the right direction without knowing at what stage of its writing and its role what are the guidelines. However, some good general themes that can find a lot of research would include: Egyptian art, the Renaissance, or you could make themselves famous painters.
