What software do the Art Institutes use in the visual effects and motion graphics program?

(3ds max, apple shake, maya, xsi, boujou, after effects, nuke, etc.)
I would like to know so that i can get this software, if i dont already have it, and start getting used to it.

Yes, Maya is a popular software for 3d animators. We also use Adobe After Effects for special effectsnin the film class I’m in. You can find some great tutorials on it too! I like videocopilot.net, check that out when you have time.
