Walthamstow – nice place to live?

Do you live in Walthamstow – what do you think of it? Is it safe? Are there any no-go areas? Does it have sports centre, gym, swimming pool, art classes etc. Advantages, disadvantages please?

I lived in Walthamstow about 15 years ago. Advantages – good transport links, massive market, good shops, cinema. Some parts are
OK. Mainly the Walthamstow village area. Beginning of the Victoria Line – a seat in the rush hour!!!!

Ddisadvantages – Some parts very rough – especially round the St James Street, Wood Street and Blackhorse Rd area towards Leyton.

If you want to live in Walthamstow make sure you are within walking distance of the underground – especially if you are travelling in the rush hour – the overground gets so busy that by the time it gets to Walthamstow, it is so packed that many cant get on.
