What is the meaning of this artwork ie the text and the chairs
Its’ called “conceptual art” and it is a “picture – photograph of a chair” In front of the picture is the actual chair used for the photo. The picture of the chair shows a placard on the right of the chair – explaining details of this composition. I think if you were able to enlarge the “placard” and read the material there, the picture may have more meaning for you. Meanwhile for whatever reason, this is a work that a Museum somewhere wanted to showcase.
“It is believed that the use of a picture is
to illustrate the three-dimensional work of art in question,
to discuss the artistic genre or technique of the work of art
or to discuss the artist or the school to which the artist belongs”
What that means is that this chair is to provoke thoughts and ideas about conceptual art work.
