Writing Assignment
You are a Red Blood Cell. Your assignment is to write a minimum one-page letter to a friend that describes
your travels through the heart and body. It must be typed, double-spaced, with a font no bigger than 14.
Begin where blood enters the heart from the body. Your letter must include all of the words on this list.
You can use the words as many times as you want. Your textbook will help you but make sure your paper is
written IN YOUR OWN WORDS. Underline each word as you use it. Use all of the tools you’ve learned in

I think if I was in a red blood cell’s shoes I would write it as a suicide note or a death-bed note to a friend, just before I decided to help the plateletts form a scab or some blood disease killed me. That way, you can make it cool and wistful like Roy’s final monologue in Blade Runner. Talk about how you’ve lived a good life and then describe in detail how you’ve been through the heart…
