Looking for Formula 1 Crankshafts for a unique art project?

Kind of random but I’d like to see if anyone knows of ways or people to talk to about getting used or otherwise useless F1 Crankshafts. I only need a few and the condition of them can be pretty poor. Just as long as I can resurface them to possibly shine again. Since it’s for an art piece, I’m not looking to pay thousands of dollars for them. I’m just looking for ways to track down a few that were otherwise going to be de-milled and thrown away. Thanks for the help.

As someone said, this stuff doesn’t get thrown away. I live in Northamptonshire within 20 minutes of three of the best engine builders on the planet, Cosworth, Mercedes (formerly Ilmor) and Engine Developments over the border in Rugby. The latter aren’t currently powering anything in formula 1 but are still building some very quick machines. But I’ve never seen anything resembling a formula 1 component at the tip so far!

But if you don’t ask, you definitely won’t get. Suggest you google these firms for contact points and ask.

It may help if you have a vision – and maybe a proposition to let them have something to display in reception in return??
