How can I make an MMORPG? (Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game)?

Hey my name’s Sidney. I’m a freshman in college and I’m a computer science major. Since the age of about 14 I’ve been really passionate about becoming a video game designer, I have tons and tons of ideas that I try to bring to life in even the simplest ways, through art, flash, simple stuff so far. My parents have always been against it, but Game design is something I really wanna commit too. So I want to start early by creating something I can manage, even if it’s over the course of one or two years. I want to make a website and establish an MMO while mostly ignoring making a profit, its mostly so I can get experience and try something practical for once. I’ve got some basic knowledge of C++ and actionscript, and I want to try my hand at making an MMO. So I’d like to ask how I should go about doing it, I’m mostly concerned about networking and making servers so that people can actually play, and I wanna make it free. So I’d like to ask for advice. Any and all help is appreciated =]
