What should a Graphic Designer know how to do?

I’m starting a freelance Graphic Design job and I’m wondering what people expect of a graphic artist.

And they didn’t thought you this stuff at college?
That’s insane…

The short version,
Clients expect miracles in the deadline they give which may even be 2 days from now.
Now start crying…

The long version.
Clients expect you to draw really fast.
Here and now.

Clients expect you to bring the image they want to reality (on paper or mock-up).

Clients expect you to not ask a what they consider a high price. You will have to know what are the reasonable prices now along with the printing costs. Make sure to find a reliable and cost effective printer.

Clients expect you to not make any mistakes…at all especially the costly ones. Cause if there’s a mistake like in the printing…woohoo…50k down the drain.

Clients expect you to put up with their fussiness. Anytime and anyway and no matter if you already completed the design they ask you…they are gonna make changes…expect numerous times. And no, you can’t get angry with ‘em. Unless its already in print…you have to stay your ground that the prints and money will then be wasted. And you have to do it like a pesuading way like a negotiator during war times…

Clients expect you to understand when they decided not to use your design and went back to the old one…the old one that looks like it was design by a 12 year old. Nothing can be done…go along with it and smile.

Did I say you can start crying already?
