Kids Fun Art Games

Do you play games at a 3 yr old birthday party?

At age 3, do the kids care about playing games? Or is it more fun to run around and play?

My son is turning 3 soon and I have to get invites out for his birthday party to all his daycare friends. But I wasn’t sure if I should plan some games or just kind of let the kids run around and play. Maybe do some art work or something?

Any suggestions as to what we can do at a 3 yr old party? Or what NOT to do?

Thanks!
Well we have no theme as of yet. It could be Spiderman, Wolverine, etc. Or it could be a “football” theme since my son LOVES football. Maybe have all the kids dress up in their favorite sports team. I honestly have no idea…I need to get thinking!!!

We talked about having the party at our house. Because we have a big yard and picnic area and it’s all fenced in. Less to worry about! But that’s not been decided just yet!

I’m open to suggestions too! :)

We JUST had Luke’s…

We had a pinata and they loved that.

We did balloon animals…(mommy learned how from watching youtube) and the LOVED that.

We flew a couple kites and they loved running after us getting the kite to fly.

I didn’t bother with games because I didn’t think Luke was old enough to actually pay attention and “get it”…

But at other parties we’ve been to….some moms did “Fossils” where they distributed balls of clay and then had shells and rocks and sticks for the kids to imprint the clay with….and then sent them home with the kids after they dried.

That was kinda cool.

And other than that, at that age…we mostly just play, the ones I’ve been to, they keep the parties short…and just try to keep them entertained….but games are hard with such young kids.
