Do i have to go to a vocatioanal college in order to become a video game designer?

I’ve been into video and online computer games for a long time im planning to take computer science classes and art class in high school in order to become a video game designer. But when i looked at the colleges there all vocational. I want to know if there are any universities i can go to, to become a video game designer i also want to be able to read computer language.

There are actually a couple of universities and colleges that I know of that offer degree programs in video game design.
