Law Art
what martial art is taught to law enforcement?
or military etc. i was going to go with krav maga but there is only one in a 50 mile radius and its a mcdojo so what would be the next best thing?
We learned a lot of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and I still train in that to this guy.
They are starting to teach Systema at the academy I was at. Which I balk at. A lot of redirecting energy non sense and the higher level stuff trains that you can knock someone down without teaching them…Silly stuff that they need to stop now.
Also PPCT is taught at academies across the country, while not a martial art, it is a system of some control and defense techniques.
A lot of stuff is good. Like I said, I love BJJ and judo, but ground fighting isn’t always the best for law enforcement. Aikido is decent, but way too much touchy feely stuff for me. Some of the new mixed martial arts places are good. They will teach you to scrap. Lots of punches and kicks aren’t great for law enforcement, but you will also learn some chokes and holds.
Nothing is perfect, just find something you like and train.
