How does one make a decent living with art?

I’m sick of bieng a starving arist. Besides being a H.S. grad i don’t have much schooling worth mentioning. How does one go about breaking into the comic biz or graphic design?

Art is no different than any other occupation. Your success is dependent on how hard you work at it. Self promotion, a hard thing for some artists to deal with, is also important, as generally an artist is self-employed and if they don’t do it themselves no one else will. Knowing how to get your name out there is the key to the game. Find ways to promote yourself. Doing community service involving your art is one way. Teaching others is another. Find a way to make your work unique from other artists work.
