What is needed to become a tattoo artist or piercer?

Im months away from being 17 and I really want to be a tattoo artist and body piercer. Im a pretty good artist but I wouldnt want to limit myself to just tattoos. What can I do to prepare myself for that kind of job? And what could help me with my goal?

I recommend going into studios and meeting owners and such and asking what they suggest. You’ll learn a lot about what you’ll have to do just by talking to people who’re in the body mod industry.
