What are the best “how-to” books for learning to draw?
I am looking for 4 different types of art books:
How to draw manga
How to draw real people/anatomy
How to draw in general (the basics, shapes, perspective, lighting, etc.)
How to create digital manga (lessons/techniques in Photoshop)
Does any one have recommendations for which books I should purchase, or which books you have found immensely helpful in improving your skills? Please share if so. Thank you!
I found the best way to learn how to draw is to observe how experienced artists draw. I used Youtube and watched how people such as ArtinArt or macpulenta drew. I also looked at art on deviantart.com and observed the different styles (most the art is in the manga style, but there are other styles as well on this site). If you want to to purchase a book to help to go along with observing other artists styles I would recommend “Manga for the Beginner” by Christopher Hart.
