Thanksgiving Art Ideas For Toddlers
Art project for toddlers………..?
I asked this in Newborn & Baby section as well.
Do any of you out there have ideas for easy Thanksgiving AND Christmas art projects for 2 1/2 yr olds? I used to work at a daycare so I’ve done a lot. I just would like to see what other people’s ideas were.
Any links would be fine too.
Thank you
Great question!
Thanksgiving
We just did hand wreaths which I’m sure you’ve at least heard of. I did it with my 19 month old and the 2 1/2 yr old I care for. They had a blast tracing their hands and helping glue them together after they were cut.
Make a turkey out of the hand print. After that have her draw things she is thankful for if she can. I know the 2 yr old i take care of couldn’t but its worth a try! Then laminate it and make it into a placemat she or you can use on thanksgiving day!
Make turkey hats
If you have a feltboard, cut out thanksgiving things and make a story up with her.
I know theres a fun craft to make turkeys out of apples, popsicle sticks, etc. Just look up turkey apple craft and it should pop right up.
Christmas
Make gingerbread tree decorations, let her cut them out and then decorate them.
Snowmen with pom-poms and popsicle sticks
Have her make some gifts for other people. My sister had a wonderful idea of buying wood items such as little toy cars, a bear, etc at an unfinished furniture place and she painted them as a gift for her little cousins!
So many things. I would recommend gbing to familyfun.com That’s where I get all my ideas, they have a wonderful selection. Have fun!
