Question on a career choice i should make!?

i am a senior this year, so i have to decide what i want to do with the rest of my life. i love things like studio art and marketing and things like that but i’m afraid if i get a degree in studio art i’m not going to be able to get a real job. i eventually want to live in a major city like philadelphia so i need a career i can pursue there too. also, what are some other major careers i can do in the city, besides cubicle jobs? thanks!

Just a couple of thoughts for you.

Just like you will change your majors in school you will also change careers several times in your lifetime. The decisions that you make today don’t lock you into that career for life. I am on career #3 in my life.

Some jobs in the arts and entertainment industry are very difficult to get because of the depth of the competition. For every job available there are literally hunderds or thousands of aspiring candidates. I have had very talented friends who have tried to enter these fields only to end up not making the cut. You may want to remember that these things are certainly ones you could enjoy as a hobby or as a second part time occupation.
